The building arrives by truck. There are two hangars going up and the following pictures are of both. On the outside both are very similar but still unique from the norm. The inside is where these two hangars differ.
This is a picture by Laura wood of the foundation of her and Joe's new hangar home.
The hangars go up quickly with the help of a large fork lift.
This is the inside of Laura & Joe's home. One half of the hangar is a beautiful 2 story home with a full kitchen.
The hangar door is operated with hydraulic arms more than capable of lifting the door and the built on porch.
This is Joe and Laura's home with the framing complete Notice the gyro copter and Power Paraglider to the left. This hangar is huge.
This is the framing for the porch. The roof line splits at the hangar door seem.
Laura showing off the new front porch.
With the push of a button the porch swings up. The table and chairs are strapped to the porch deck but still rock.
This is the front of Dan and Deborah's hangar with the door closed.
This is of course with the door open.
Laura and Joe simply finished the dividing wall of their hangar home and hung interesting items like a full size Silver Surfer from the ceiling but that just wouldn't do for Dan Shaw and his wife Debbie.
The interior partition in Dan's hangar Home reminded him of a little alley so,...
Dan called me with a concept he had in his head but couldn't put on paper. Joe is my accountant and let Dan know this is what I did for Disney and Universal Studios. Using a 3-D program I re-created the interior of the hangar and then clad the walls to look like buildings. The sidewalks will have working street lights and the buildings will have working, lighted signs. Some of the windows and doors are functional while others are fake. All look real.
Dan hired a carpenter and also did a lot of the work himself.
This is the right wall that includes the Laundry room, Office and fake "Yarn Barn" store to the right. That's Dan in the yellow shirt.
The ceiling has been painted black and will have star light and mood lighting. when the door is closed. If you look under the balcony you'll see a big screen projector that shines on the closed hangar door..
This is the left wall with the fake Ice Cream Shop. At the time of these pictures, the place is about 90% complete.
The bar of course is 100% complete and was one of the first.
When the hangar door is closed the door becomes a giant TV screen that you can also show movies on.
As I mentioned earlier, the bar is a working bar where you will be able to make your favorite drinks. This is a view while it was under construction.
Friends Doug Bonomo and Lori Reffett enjoying the open house and fly in.
Dan took me up in his 172.
Climb out is steep.
Joe took the Gyro out for a spin as well as the rest of the residents of this quaint flying comunity.
A view of the strip from a half a mile out.
The interior portion of the hangar is going to be beautiful with full amenities and a working elevator. There is a bathroom and bedroom downstairs with the master bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
Dan went all out with the finish inside this Hangar.
The bedrooms are huge!
The Master bath has a nice big bathroom with these modern antique sinks.
Across from the sinks is this vanity that is against the shower wall. There is no shower curtain, you just walk in one side and out the other.
This is what's on the other side of the shower wall.
